A handmade bouquet made for birthday, photographed in daylight.

Birthday

What do you give someone who already has enough things?

It's the one day of the year that belongs entirely to them, so we make something they can keep.

The card

What to write

We write the card by hand, exactly as you send it. Take one of these or change it so it sounds like you.

  • Happy birthday. I wanted to send you something that lasts, a bit like your patience with me.
  • Many happy returns. I hope you still have this next year.
  • Happy birthday. There's nothing to water and nothing to keep alive.
  • This is for your birthday, and for every birthday you look at it after.
  • Happy birthday. I wanted to send you something you'd keep.
  • That's another year gone. Here's something to keep once the cake is finished.
  • Happy birthday from all of us. We're sorry we couldn't be there.
  • I hope you have a lovely day and a whole year of good things.

Timing

When to order

We take three to five days to make a piece, and delivery in Colombo adds a day. If you order a week ahead, there's room for the date to move. We can often manage same-week orders, so please ask rather than assume.

What most people get wrong

The most common mistake is sending it on the day itself. We'd send it the morning before, so that it's already on the table when the day starts instead of arriving in the middle of everything else.

Tell us who it is for.

We reply within the hour on most days. You're not committing to anything, and we never show the price to the person receiving it.

Questions

The things worth knowing before you order.

No. We never put a price, invoice or receipt in the box.
